Humble beginnings

I've always been into crafts and done knitting (still proudly remember my first scarf with the lovely giant hole in the middle - I did that!) rug-making, sewing, making woollen pom-poms, painting stones, picture framing, willow sculptures etc.

We've now got a fantastic shop (Sweet Ginger Emporium) down the road that does courses, and I've learnt some quilting with them. I thought now was a good time to keep a record of what I'm doing, what I've done and I'll be able to see improvements and keep an eye on the new stuff I learn as well!

Considering all that, I'm not in the least bit artisitic!

Garden ornaments etc

I made garden ornaments, and then got into making the moulds for them - had to get very inventive when it was winter and took longer to dry, considering we were just living in a flat!

I used to help make paving slabs, the ones with pebble facing involved "rugasol" to draw out the cement, which would then wash off and leave the pebbles showing.  The downside was that it was extremely potent and needed a lot of fresh air when using it!
