Humble beginnings

I've always been into crafts and done knitting (still proudly remember my first scarf with the lovely giant hole in the middle - I did that!) rug-making, sewing, making woollen pom-poms, painting stones, picture framing, willow sculptures etc.

We've now got a fantastic shop (Sweet Ginger Emporium) down the road that does courses, and I've learnt some quilting with them. I thought now was a good time to keep a record of what I'm doing, what I've done and I'll be able to see improvements and keep an eye on the new stuff I learn as well!

Considering all that, I'm not in the least bit artisitic!

Quilting - machine (2008)

My first attempts at quilting were quite small, only 9 or 12 squares sewn together on the sewing machine, with a plain fleece back.  I made three of these for babies due around the same time, and got a bit annoyed that I couldn't keep the lines straight - but I was using different types of material, so now I know more, I'm not really surprised!

One little girl still uses hers, but as a blanket for her dolly - which is as it should be!
